This is a map showing the places I went while I was Rome.

My next and final stop is Rome, Italy. Rome is the capital of Italy and has a Mediterranean climate, and it is located in South Central Italy. The absolute location for Italy is 41° 53’N, 12° 28’E. Rome is in the region of Lazio. Italy is one of the leading producers of renewable energy. Rome is home to the country of Vatican City, and the Vatican is the seat to the Roman Catholic Church. Just ten miles outside of Rome is the Leonardo Da Vinci- Fiumicino Airport.

This is St. Peter's Basillica in the Vatican.

Roman architecture has developed over the centuries, and has many design styles starting with the classical Roman style, such as in the Colosseum. Ancient Roman architecture has influenced Western architecture because Romans invented the dome, arch and vault. Other styles in Roman architecture are: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassical Rome, and Fascist Modern.

I hope to have a better understanding of Roman history. I also would like to have a better understanding of how ancient Roman architecture influenced buildings in the rest of the world.
